NORTH ADAMS -- Local illustrator Jana Christy has always dreamed big.
She just never expected her illustrations to be featured as a 15-foot-high and 20-foot-wide book in Rockefeller Center.
Christy recently illustrated the book, "Dream Big" for Carnival Cruises, which will debut what is being called "the world’s largest book" in Rockefeller Center this morning as it launches a new cruise ship, The Carnival Dream, which is geared toward young children. Christy and the book will be featured this morning during a segment on NBC’s "Today Show," seen locally on Channel 13.
"It’s weird and cool," Christy said. "I’m trying to imagine what it’s going to be like seeing these illustrations that I’ve only really seen on my 17-inch computer screen on a 15-foot-tall [by] 20-foot-wide book on stage in Rockefeller Center, with acrobats and musicians and big cut-outs of my characters for kids to poke their faces through."
The book, which is a compilation of dreams submitted by children who have been on a Carnival Cruise, was also used as a fundraiser for St.
